FAQ

Frequently asked questions about our postcards, ordering and delivery.

What does Egypt in Postcards specialize in?

We offer original vintage Egyptian postcards spanning the late 1880s to the mid-20th century, including lithographic prints and real photographic postcards. Explore ancient landmarks, cities, everyday life, the Nile, deserts and coastal scenes.

Are the postcards original or reproductions?

The postcards offered in this store are original vintage items, not modern reproductions. Each listing includes scans of the individual postcard.

Will I receive the exact postcard shown?

Yes. Each listing represents one individual postcard, and you will receive the postcard shown in its front and reverse scans.

What condition are the postcards in?

Condition varies with age and use. Please review both scans and the condition notes for signs of wear, creasing, spotting or other marks. Contact us before purchasing if you would like clarification.

What does Posted or Unposted mean?

Posted means there is evidence that the postcard was sent through the post, such as a postmark or postal cancellation. Unposted means no evidence of mailing is visible. Writing or an uncancelled stamp alone does not necessarily mean a postcard was posted.

How are postcards packaged and shipped?

We ship from the UAE using protective sleeves and sturdy cardboard envelopes. Shipping is AED 30 within the UAE and AED 90 internationally per order, regardless of how many postcards you purchase.

How long does delivery take?

Allow up to 5 working days for UAE delivery and 10–15 working days internationally. These are estimates and may vary by destination and courier.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Tracking is provided after dispatch so you can follow your shipment.

Do you accept returns?

Sales are final, except where a postcard arrives significantly damaged or there is a clear error in the order. Please contact us within 3 days of delivery in either case.

Are postcards suitable for framing?

Yes. Vintage postcards can be displayed in a frame. To help preserve the original, use archival materials, avoid adhesives directly on the postcard, and keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.

Will I need to pay customs or import duties?

Your destination country may charge import duties or customs fees. Any such charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

How can I contact you?

Please use our contact form. For a question about a particular postcard, include its inventory ID so we can identify it quickly.
